Just when I thought leaving the kitchen was okay...

This is what happens when you leave a 3 year old in the kitchen with a baby. My sweet Addy was eating lunch and Brooklyn was in her high chair crying for more green beans so she took it upon herself to be the mommy for a second and give her more...well not only did she give her more she gave her the whole bowl full! As I walked in the kitchen wondering what all the noise was I see Addy with a broom and dust pan TRYING to clean up her mess. It was hard for me to get mad at her...she was TRYING to help me feed the baby and then TRYING to clean up after herself. She'll be a great Mommy someday but hopefully a cleaner one. :)

Saying our good- byes to Jake Dog

My mom's Dog Jake has been apart of the family for 10 years, so my kids( oldest being six) don't know life without him. He has been a wonderful dog, river dog, friend and playmate to the kids. This last week my mom found out that he has a tumor on his spleen that will burst at anytime, when it does he will die and thankfully it will happen in his sleep. His pediatrician said that he probably has no longer than 4 weeks at most and there is nothing they can do to save him. Yesterday we all went down to my mom's and had a great day celebrating the life of Jake and all our memories we have shared with him. We had so much fun and took lots of pictures with him.
The day before we went down to my mom's we watched Marley & Me with the kids (of course we fast forwarded all the adult parts and enjoyed only the dog parts) When it got to the end and Marley died the kids were sad but started to ask questions about where animals went when they died. I proceeded to tell them about Jake and his tumor so they would be prepared when he died. The movie was perfect because Jake is a Yellow Lab just like Marley in the movie so it really hits home for us. At my mom's we also had a FHE (Family Home Evening)on resurrection and explained to them that when our animals die they will be resurrected like us and their body and spirit will come together again and we will be able to see them again. Their faces lighted up and they were so happy. Jake this post is dedicated to you, we love you so much and we are so happy you filled our hearts with joy and love!
